MUSEUM LIBRARY

The Library of the Ceramics Museum, located within the Palazzo del Monte di Pietà, underwent a renovation aimed at creating a functional and contemporary study space that engages with the historic architecture. The project involved custom-made furniture in light wood, with modular shelving lining the walls and creating an orderly geometric rhythm. The choice of understated materials and clean lines ensures neutrality, while placing the focus on the books and documents.

The space is completed by consultation areas and a meeting room, designed to accommodate both scholars and educational and outreach activities. The exposed beam ceiling, retained as a defining feature, interacts with the contemporary finishes, creating a balance between memory and innovation.

The library, integrated into the museum itinerary, is not only a repository of specialized texts but also a vibrant space for research, study, and cultural encounters. Thus, it becomes an integral part of the museum's mission: to combine historical heritage and current knowledge in a single cultural system.
