CERAMICS MUSEUM
The Savona Ceramics Museum, located in the restored Palazzo del Monte di Pietà (1480), houses approximately one thousand works from the 15th century to the present, testifying to the centuries-old ceramic tradition of Savona and Albisola.
The exhibition is connected to the Civic Art Gallery of Palazzo Gavotti. The restoration aimed to preserve historical traces while integrating respectful and reversible contemporary interventions. The exhibition, conceived as a "neutral container," uses four main materials (resin, lime, stainless steel, and glass), allowing the ceramics to lend color to the spaces. Spaces and architectural contrasts also enhance the Boncompagni Ludovisi collection. High color rendering LED lighting ensures the best visibility of the reflective surfaces.
The museum is owned and funded by the A. De Mari Foundation, with a design by architects Rodolfo Fallucca and Marco Ricchebono. Today, the museum represents one of the main cultural centers in the Savona area.
