MATCH SQUARE
The redevelopment project in Calizzano transforms a cluttered urban void into a distinctive and livable pedestrian space. Not a square, but an urban garden for strolls, performances, and socializing, where nature and architecture interact. Wood, stone, and greenery define organic and continuous pathways, consistent with the context. Lighting becomes a defining element, with floor lamps and ceramic and steel "pop matchstick" lamppost sculptures. The war memorial is integrated into the new layout, restoring its visibility. The space is now recognized and experienced by residents and tourists as a new center of attraction.
